Audiobookify is designed as a private EPUB reader and listen-mode audiobook app. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.

Information We Collect

Audiobookify does not require you to create an account and does not collect personal information directly from you.

The app may store the following information locally on your device so the reader and listen mode can function:

• Imported EPUB files
• Book metadata from imported EPUBs, such as title, author, cover image, and book identifier
• Reading progress, including chapter position, scroll position, listen-mode sentence position, Speed Reader word position, and when a book was last opened
• Reading and listening history, including time spent per book and active dates
• Reader and library-display settings and preferences
• Text-to-speech settings, voices, text replacement rules, and playback preferences
• Downloaded text-to-speech model and voice files if you enable optional on-device voices

Local EPUB Storage

When you import an EPUB from Files, from another app, or from a generated download, Audiobookify copies the book into its local app storage so it can appear in your library and reopen later.

Audiobookify also stores extracted reading files in the device cache while you read. Cache files may be removed by the system or by deleting the app.

iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud Sync, Audiobookify may store reader data in your personal iCloud account so it can be backed up or restored across your devices.

This may include reading progress and when a book was last opened; listen-mode sentence and Speed Reader word position; reading and listening history, including book title and author snapshots; and reader and library-display settings and preferences.

iCloud data is stored through Apple's iCloud services and is associated with your Apple ID. Audiobookify does not operate its own server for iCloud Sync and does not have access to your Apple ID password.

Fanfiction URL Import

Audiobookify includes an optional Fanfiction URL import feature powered by FicHub. If you paste a story URL and choose to fetch or download it, Audiobookify sends that URL to FicHub so FicHub can return story metadata and generate or provide an EPUB download. FicHub may handle that request according to its own privacy practices.

You can also start this import from a Shortcut or by asking Siri to import a copied link. When you ask Siri, Audiobookify reads a single link from your clipboard so it can fill in the import screen; iOS asks your permission before the app can read clipboard contents. Nothing is read from your clipboard unless you start that action, the clipboard is never read in the background, and its contents are not stored or sent anywhere except as the story URL described above. Either way the import screen still shows you the story and waits for you to confirm before anything is downloaded.

Audiobookify does not control FicHub and is not responsible for FicHub's content, availability, data handling, or privacy practices.

Text-to-Speech and Model Downloads

Audiobookify includes listen mode using Apple voices and optional downloadable text-to-speech engines. Book text is processed for speech on your device by the selected engine. Audiobookify does not send your book text to an Audiobookify server.

When you install an optional on-device voice model, the app may also download its available lightweight voice catalog and connect to model download services used by the text-to-speech engine. Those services may receive standard network request information such as your IP address and user agent. Downloaded models and voice files are stored locally on your device and can be removed from the app's text-to-speech settings.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Audiobookify offers an optional Supporter subscription through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the purchase and associates it with your Apple ID. Audiobookify receives the product and entitlement status needed to unlock premium voices, but does not receive or store your payment-card details.

You can restore purchases in the Supporter screen and manage or cancel the subscription through Apple's subscription-management interface.

Web Content and External Links

Audiobookify renders EPUB chapters with Apple's WebKit technology from files stored on your device. EPUB books may contain links or references to external websites. If you open third-party websites or content, those sites may collect information according to their own privacy policies.

Audiobookify does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their content, tracking, cookies, analytics, or privacy practices.

Analytics and Tracking

Audiobookify does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or cross-app tracking. The app does not sell your personal information.

Data Sharing

Audiobookify does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.

Data may be handled by Apple services when you use iCloud, TestFlight, crash reporting, App Store distribution, purchases and subscriptions, or other Apple platform features, subject to Apple's privacy policies.

Data may also be handled by FicHub if you choose to use Fanfiction URL import, and by model download services if you choose to download optional on-device text-to-speech models.

Children's Privacy

Audiobookify is not directed at children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices

You can remove locally stored library data by deleting books from Audiobookify or by deleting the app from your device.

You can delete an individual book's reading and listening history from the Reading Analytics dashboard without deleting the book or its reading position. When iCloud Reading Activity is in use, Audiobookify also removes or invalidates older synced analytics for that book so they are not restored by another device.

You can manage iCloud data through Audiobookify's iCloud Sync settings and through your device's iCloud settings. You can remove downloaded text-to-speech models and voices from Audiobookify's text-to-speech settings.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If changes are made, the updated version will be posted with a new “Last updated” date.
